Click on a print to be taken to its listing in my Etsy store. I don't keep all my prints in stock all the time, so if a print is listed as sold out or unavailable please don't hesitate to contact me. I'm sure I'll be able to find, or even print, one for you!

About
Hello! I am Mark Wilkinson, aka Inkshed Press, a British-born, Vancouver-based printmaker and illustrator specialising in linocut.
I came to printmaking through a convoluted series of events after a 22 year career in the military, drawn by what I see as its timeless quality, the deceptive simplicity of line and form it allows, and its tactile, versatile and accessible nature. You need so little to get started – some basic tools, a block of lino, a roller, ink and paper – and you can do it just about anywhere. All of which went to make it an absolute godsend as my arrival in Canada pretty much coincided with the onset of Covid times and lockdown.
I have always had a real love of portraiture, but until recently had not felt able to fully embrace this passion. The enforced commercial downtime caused by my move to Canada, combined with the need to find something to fill the long hours of lockdown in a new country, changed all that. As a result, much of my artwork is now drawn from people, stories, classic film and literature, and often focuses specifically on portraiture within these influences.
Everything you see here is made entirely by hand by me, from designing and drawing, to carving and printing, using traditional printmaking techniques. I am passionate about what I do and use high-quality materials to produce what I believe is a high-quality product.
