A handmade, original, limited edition linocut print of Marlene Dietrich as Shanghai Lily in Josef von Sternberg’s 1932 film Shanghai Express.

Marlene is hand printed using black vegetable oil-based Caligo Safe Wash Relief Ink on beautiful Zerkall 145gsm printmaking paper. She is one of a limited edition run of only 60 prints, each of which is numbered, dated and signed in pencil by me. Since each print in the run bears a different edition number, the number of your print (e.g 5/60) may not be the one shown in the photographs.

Every step in the process of making the linocut, from designing and drawing, to carving and printing, is done entirely by hand by me, and, as such, every print in the edition is absolutely unique and may vary ever so slightly from the illustration. This is not a flaw, but rather an inevitable outcome of the handmade process.

All prints are dispatched within 3 working days in a board backed, protective cellophane sleeve, ready to frame or give as a gift. They are then carefully packed in a rigid mailer and dispatched via Canada Post. I offer free, standard, untracked shipping within North America and charge a nominal CA$5.00 fee for the rest of the world. Shipping upgrades are available.
